A Doll's House Act I

I think Nora was selfish and greedy. She only cares about money. She is frivolous, always wasting money and never paying anyone back. She squanders her husband’s money on trips and extravagances. She is thoughtless regarding Christine and only her her good fortune. Mrs. Linde was the opposite of Nora. She married her husband to take care of her bedridden mother and brothers. She worked hard and watched her money.

I can relate to the play, because my sister is irresponsible with money. She has no sense of what she’s spending or what it means. She gets mad if I try to interfere. Nora’s behavior reminds me of the economic crisis in the U.S. People borrowing money for trips and anything they want, not thinking about when they have to pay for it. Then finally, one day the debts have to be paid and there’s no money to pay for it.
